Call me Cheesy

Hamburger Phones in Demand - Sales Up 759% Thanks To Juno Film (VIDEO)

For those of you who have not seen the heartwarming hit, JUNO, you will be completely baffled by this phenomenon.

According to EBay.com, sales of the retro “hamburger phone” have jumped 759% in the month following the movie’s release, with interest expected to spike even more now that JUNO has been nominated for four Academy Awards.

On Facebook, there are now groups dedicated solely to discussing the phone, with such names as “Sorry, I’m on my hamburger phone – Juno” or “Juno’s hamburger phone is the cheese to my macaroni.”

According to recent articles, Fox Searchlight gave out JUNO branded hamburger phones to select members of the press as part of the film’s publicity campaign.

Prime placement in one of the year's most talked-about movies is transforming the hamburger phone into an unlikely pop icon.

This just reaffirms my belief that everything is new and that my generation will ensure that kitsch comes back and gives our children the opportunity to revel in the absurd and unique like we did.

Then again, back then we saw hamburgers as a “happy meal.”  Today there is just a bit more irony to it….and I guess that is why it works so well in JUNO.

At any rate, check out the ad below.  It is ultra funny…and -dare I say – a bit CHEESY??!

Order now!  Oh, and if you haven’t seen JUNO – get thee to a theatre pronto.
