As 2008 rapidly comes to a close, it is time to look ahead to 2009 and what is to come.

Movie ticket retailer Fandango has posted an interesting report showcasing the “Most Anticipated Blockbusters” according to the men and women who visit their site.

Check it out!

While I agree (for the most part) that the above films are going to be the biggest in terms of box office, some films missing from this list that deserve noting.  Why were they left off?  Well, likely because they are smaller scale,  people aren’t aware they are coming out and/or audiences have not yet learned what they are about – at a glance (and off of the top of my head) some of these include:

Coraline, Monsters vs. Aliens, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Adventureland, Little Ashes, Up, Inglorious Bastards, Funny People, Crossing Over, Land of the Lost 3-D, 9, The Other Side, Old Dogs, 2012, Astro Boy, The A-Team, Avatar, A Christmas Carol and Sherlock Holmes.

In summary, 2008 was a great year for movies, but 2009 will likely be even better!

While 2009 is clearly going to be a year heavy with sequels (here we go again!),  I anticipate spending countless hours in darkened theatres along with hourdes of other fans…

So as the new year rolls in, please feel free to bookmark this spot as I will certainly be sharing updates and breaking news here as information becomes available.

Have a film you are looking forward to seeing that I haven’t listed here?  Let me know!
