Coraline and Craftster

I discovered this brilliant little website today thanks to a Twitter feed from CORALINE author Neil Gaiman…it completely blew me away!!

Craftster is an online community where people share hip, off-beat, crafty diy (do it yourself) projects. The term “Craftster” means “crafty hipster” and is also meant to be an homage to the pioneer peer-to-peer sites Napster and Friendster.

Craftster is the largest online community for what is now commonly known as “indie crafts.” (“Indie” stands for independent as in indie music, indie art, indie film, etc.) Craftster is regarded by many as one of the cornerstones of the recent renaissance in crafting known as the “indie craft movement.”

As I have posted before, I can’t say enough about the brilliant artistry of CORALINE and how wonderfully magical Selick’s stop motion animation was in this classic film….and it has clearly inspired others to be creative in showing their fandom. Check out this photo post from

…and this video from one of the knitters responsible for making the mini costumes for the character puppets is awe-inspiring!! Check it out;

WOW. Feeling the need to CREATE something??! Swing on over to!!
